The Detroit Tigers are looking to rebound from a rough start to the year, and will need Tarik Skubal back in the rotation to do so.
But the pitching staff isn't the only area of the roster facing some problems. There is another position on the roster that has some issues that need to be resolved.
Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report highlighted outfield help as the Tigers' top deadline need this year, though there's a bit of a twist for the Tigers that isn't good news.
"Aside from Riley Greene, though, this outfield could use a lot of help," Miller writes. "And unless they're ready (they're not) to hand the center field reins to their 21-year-old, No. 3 overall pick from three years, Max Clark, that means finding at least one outfielder on the trade block."
Outfield is a big need for the Tigers at this year's trade deadline, and the problem with Max Clark might lead to some desperate trade deadline maneuvering.
The Tigers require additional outfield support to address issues within their roster as they aim to improve their performance.
Tarik Skubal's return is essential for the Tigers' pitching rotation, which is critical for their overall success this season.
The Tigers are struggling with a rough start to the year, needing both pitching and outfield improvements to turn their season around.

The Tigers are in need of outfield help other than Riley Greene, who is having a good 2026 season so far. Kerry Carpenter is a good hitter, but once he's back from injury, he'll retain his right field spot.
But, in center field, the Tigers could use one of four options: Matt Vierling, Javier Baez, Wenceel Perez, and Gage Workman. These aren't the worst outfield options, but it's clear there's plenty of room to upgrade from this group.
In an ideal world, they could've gone with Clark getting the call-up to the big leagues. But, with his play this season in Triple-A not being too great, with a .690 OPS and .261 batting average, Detroit's front office might not feel he's ready.
And if the Tigers are in danger of wasting the final year of Skubal's club control, it would not be a surprise if they got desperate and felt the need to acquire a top-tier center fielder.
Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels would be the top prize, but he's not likely to leave L.A. at all. Harrison Bader of the San Francisco Giants or Jarren Duran of the Boston Red Sox could be other expensive CF options in the trade market.
It's a worrisome situation for the Tigers, especially if the franchise doesn't want to call up Clark this season. Detroit might get desperate this season in its search for a new center fielder, which could spell bad news for the long-term success of the Tigers franchise.
