The Detroit Tigers are trying to win it all this season in what's possibly the last season of Tarik Skubal in Detroit. Kevin McGonigle is a huge help for the infield, but there are still some areas of the roster that need help.
One of the biggest areas of need for the Tigers if they're trying to go all-in this season is the outfield, and specifically center field. Parker Meadows is out for a while, and the Tigers need a better starter there.
That's why Bleacher Reports' Joel Reuter made a Tigers trade idea that would send three prospects to the Toronto Blue Jays for their defensive wizard center fielder, Daulton Varsho.
"To DET: CF Daulton Varsho. To TOR: IF Hao-Yu Lee (Tier 4, No. 7 DET prospect), LHP Jake Miller (Tier 5), OF Jackson Strong (Tier 5)," Rueter proposed.
The Tigers need to upgrade their center field spot this season if they're to go all-in, which might not be a bad idea with the Skubal window.
Landing Varsho would be a fun upgrade for the Tigers for a few reasons. But his defense is the main reason why he would be a great pickup for the Detroit outfield.
"Originally drafted as a catcher, he has developed into one of baseball's best center fielders, logging 45 Defensive Runs Saved at the position since joining the Blue Jays in 2023," Rueter writes.

The proposal suggests the Tigers trade three prospects to the Blue Jays for center fielder Daulton Varsho.
The Tigers need a better starter in center field due to Parker Meadows being out for an extended period.
The specific names of the three prospects have not been disclosed in the trade idea.

Losing Lee in this trade would sting a bit, but landing someone as good as Varsho will come at a decent cost. And with the strong infield prospects, Lee might be a bit more expendable than some other prospects in the Tigers' system.
Varsho, so far this season, has a .267 batting average with an .827 OPS with three homers to go with some strong defense.
In his career, he's reached 20-plus homers three times in the last four seasons, including 20 in a 71-game season in 2025.
Varsho might not be an All-Star in his career, but he has a Gold Glove award, and he's someone the Tigers would surely benefit from adding to their outfield.
This trade idea would be a great move for the Tigers, as Varsho would be a nice one-year upgrade to a position the Tigers have struggled to fill consistently.
