Jan. 26, 2024: Moore is named J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Head Football Coach at the University of Michigan, succeeding Harbaugh. Following his appointment, Shiver becomes his executive assistant.

Dec. 10, 2025: Moore is arrested after Pittsfield Township police respond to a call at the stafferâs home after she reports Moore has come to the residence following the breakup and is allegedly threatening harm to himself, with knives involved. 911 dispatcher relays that a caller says Moore has been stalking her for months and appears with a knife, holding it to his own throat.
Dec. 12, 2025: At a Washtenaw County District Court arraignment, Moore is charged with thirdâdegree home invasion, stalking, and breaking and entering. Prosecutors said the victim and Moore had an intimate relationship for a number of years, that she ended it on Dec. 8, and that Moore continued to call and text her repeatedly, leading her to seek help from the university*.* Bail is set at $25,000, and Moore is released on bond with conditions including no contact and other restrictions.

March 6, 2026: Moore reaches a plea deal in which he pleads no contest to two misdemeanor counts: malicious use of a telecommunications device in the context of a domestic relationship and trespassing.
March 12, 2026: Former football executive assistant Paige Shiver releases a statement through her attorneys saying the university failed to protect her from "years of manipulation, harassment, and exploitation" by Moore. The Chicago-based Action Injury Law Group said the power imbalance between the "powerful head coach and a subordinate employee created an environment where (she) felt pressured, intimidated, and unable to escape conduct that should never occur in any workplace â let alone at a public university."April 13, 2026: Moore is sentenced to 18 months of probation and no additional jail time after his noâcontest plea on the misdemeanors. Court coverage indicates the judge also imposes fines and court costs (over $1,000 total), orders continued mentalâhealth treatment, bans alcohol, marijuana and illegal drugs, and bars Moore from any contact with the staffer or her home or workplace, with weapons restrictions and a future review hearing scheduled.
April 2026: In an interview with The Detroit News, Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel said he âfelt betrayedâ when the investigation established Moore had committed a fireable offense, expressing hurt for staff, studentâathletes and the university as a whole.
Shiver told ABC's "Good Morning America" that she aborted a child with Moore in a relationship that lasted four years and was "encouraged" by members of the university's athletic department.
