The Titans executed their second trade of this weekend's draft in the second round, agreeing to a deal with the Chicago Bears to acquire the No. 60 pick in exchange for picks Nos. 69 and 144. This comes after the Titanspulled off a blockbuster deal to move back into the first round on April 23, giving up picks Nos. 35, 66 and 101 in exchange for picks Nos. 31, 69 and 165, using the 31st pick to select defensive end Keldric Faulk.
With the No. 60 pick, the Titans drafted linebacker Anthony Hill Jr., out of Texas. Hill was a second-team All-America honoree each of the last two seasons who's proven his chops as a pass rusher as well as a tackler from the middle of the defense.
As a result of the trade to acquire Faulk, the Titans went from having two picks on Day 2 to just having one pick, and went from picking at the top of Round 4 to start Day 3 all the way to having more than 70 picks between their third-round pick and when they pick next in the fifth round.
The Titans used their first first-round pick to select WR Carnell Tate at No. 4 overall. That No. 4 position is the earliest the Titans have drafted a wide receiver since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970. Tate and Faulk are the first pair of first-round picks the Titans drafted on the same night since WR and CB Adoree' Jackson in 2017.
