The Tennessee Titans hold the No. 4 pick in the NFL Draft, with options including edge rusher David Bailey and running back Jeremiyah Love. Their strategy remains uncertain, with possibilities of trading back or selecting a player based on availability.
After a long and winding journey, the NFL draft is finally upon us, and teams will be kicking off the first round later tonight in Pittsburgh.
The Tennessee Titans enter the evening with needs and wants, but what direction they will take in the first round remains a bit of a mystery. Will they take an edge such as David Bailey, a running back such as Jeremiyah Love, or will they trade back? Honestly, in what is shaping up to be a crazy night, no one really knows.
Sports Illustrated’s Matt Verderame took a deep dive in the first round and came up with the best-and-worst case scenarios for all 32 teams, including the Titans.
Tennessee Titans
First round: No. 4Total picks: 9
Best-case: Love and either Bailey or Reese are available at four, giving general manager Mike Borgonzi a tremendous option for either side of the ball. Then, in the second round, take the other side.
Worst-case: There’s no terrible spot for the Titans to be in, but the worst might be if Bailey and Reese are both off the board, forcing them to take Love or reach a bit for Bain.
The Titans have a great shot at landing a playmaker with the pick fourth overall, whether it’s Love, Bailey, or another prospect. What they intend to do with that pick is the real question. The Titans have most recently been connected to Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles, although both Bailey and Love have gone through those stages throughout the pre-draft process.
Luckily for everyone, the titans for speculating are about over, and it is almost time for the newest member of the Titans to be revealed.
