NEW DELHI: All eyes will once again be on the young pace duo of Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain when Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Chennai Super Kings in their IPL 2026 clash at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday.
The 24-year-old Vidarbha pacer Hinge was outstanding in the last match against Rajasthan Royals. He set the tone early, striking in the opening over and dismantling the top order, which included Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel and Lhuan-dre Pretorius. He also removed skipper Riyan Parag to finish with impressive figures of 4/34.
Hinge was well supported by fellow pacer Sakib Hussain, the 21-year-old from Bihar, who used clever variations in the middle overs to claim four wickets as Rajasthan Royals were bowled out for 159 while chasing 216.
Sunrisers Hyderabad will be hoping for a similar performance against CSK. The in-form pace pair will be looking to put pressure on CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, who has struggled for runs this season, with a highest score of 28 in five innings.
There is, however, some relief for CSK with Sanju Samson returning to form. He smashed an unbeaten century against Delhi Capitals and followed it up with a 48 in the win over Kolkata Knight Riders.
With Gaikwad out of form, CSK could consider pushing him down the order and promoting youngster Ayush Mhatre, who has impressed with two fifties in his last four innings.
After a poor start with three consecutive defeats, the five-time champions - still without MS Dhoni, who is expected to be fit for the next game in Mumbai - have bounced back with two successive wins.
However, their bowling resources have taken a hit with left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed ruled out of the season due to a quadriceps injury sustained in the win over Kolkata Knight Riders.
Already missing Dhoni and Nathan Ellis, CSK may need to reshuffle their pace attack. Mukesh Choudhary could step in as a like-for-like new-ball option, while Ramakrishna Ghosh is another alternative.

The pitch at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium is generally batting-friendly, offering good bounce and carry. Sunrisers Hyderabad batters enjoyed success in their previous match here, and with their familiarity with the conditions, they could once again put up a big total. Dew is expected to play a crucial role in the second innings, making it easier for teams to chase. The moisture can make gripping the ball difficult for bowlers, reducing their effectiveness. As a result, teams winning the toss are likely to opt to bowl first, taking advantage of the chasing conditions.
Mostly sunny and very warm conditions are expected, with the temperature peaking at around 40°C. Skies will remain clear through the night, with the mercury dropping to a low of 26°C. It will be a hot day in Hyderabad with virtually no chance of rain. Conditions are likely to stay mostly clear during match hours, with temperatures easing from around 37°C at toss time to nearly 32°C by the end of play.
