Michigan is seeking good news Wednesday when 2027 four-star Chicago (Ill.) Mt. Carmel wide receiver Quentin Burrell gets set to announce his commitment. His decision will be broadcast live on the Rivals YouTube Channel at 3 p.m. ET.
Burrell, who has been a long-time target for the Wolverines, will choose between them, Notre Dame, Missouri, and Arizona State. Multiple predictions are in for him to land at Michigan, so things are trending positively for the Wolverines heading into Wednesday.
As it appeared coming off spring camp, Burrell was expected to take an official visit to Michigan for Victorās Weekend from June 19-21 before shutting down his recruitment. That trip is still on the table should he decide to don the maize and blue at the next level, but as of right now, officials will not be needed for him to pick a school.
Should Michigan come out on top, itās due to the effort made by the current coaching staff to make Burrell one of their top options at the wide receiver position. Micah Simon, Jason Beck and Kyle Whittingham have all made a difference in helping separate the Wolverines from the rest of the pack. It also helps that Burrell has deep knowledge on the university itself because of all the times heās been on campus with his sister, Kali, who just graduated from Michigan this spring and played for the womenās soccer team.
Burrell spent time inside Schembechler Hall twice this offseason when Michigan was holding spring practice. He first returned April 2 and then came back April 18 for the annual spring game. Itās also important to note that Burrell was at the spring game with Mt. Carmel teammate and 2027 four-star defensive back Tavares Harrington, whoās also trending to Michigan and is expected to announce a commitment May 22.

Here is what Burrellās father, Aaron, told The Wolverine earlier this month: āHe knows what he wants and what he doesnāt want, and heās not really willing to compromise, right? When I describe Quentin, I donāt say rare, but I just say heās uncommon. He does a lot of uncommon thingsā the choice of high school he goes to, the way that he works off the field, not needing a whole lot of attention from coaches and stuff like that. Heās just an uncommon kid in all the best ways.ā
Maize n Brew also likes where Michigan stands heading into the announcement. Again, the combination of his familiarity of the program, along with his developed rapport with the staff and the priority feel heās received from the coaches have paved the way for the Wolverines to potentially land their first wide receiver commit this cycle.
At 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, Burrell is ranked as the No. 85 overall prospect and No. 15 receiver in the country, according to Rivals. Heās also the No. 6 player in Illinois. As a junior. he finished his junior season with 67 catches for 1,139 yards and 16 touchdowns, capturing a state title in the process.
