Defensive lineman Devarrick Woods is visiting Florida State after entering the transfer portal. He was previously with Texas State and has received an extra year of eligibility.

While the transfer portal has been closed for quite some time, the Florida State Seminoles are hosting former Texas State defensive lineman Devarrick Woods on a visit, according to Warchant's Matt LaSerre. He entered his name into the portal when it was open, allowing him to still transfer despite spring practice being complete.
The 6-foot-3, 290-pounder was thought to be out of eligibility after the 2025 season, but announced on April 24 that he had been given an extra year of eligibility. That has caused several teams to become interested, with FSU working quickly to secure a visit, as have the Florida Gators.
Woods played in 11 games last year, recording 16 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, and a quarterback hurry in 177 snaps. He spent the prior two years at Hinds Community College, making 66 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and three pass breakups in 18 total games.
He is originally from Bossier City, Louisiana. He was a member of the 2021 recruiting class and was an unranked prospect before heading to Hinds Community College. He was considered a three-star prospect when he signed with Texas State, with Rivals ranking him the No. 138 player overall and No. 25 defensive lineman in their JUCO rankings.
FSU signed his Texas State teammate Jordan Sanders earlier in the offseason. While Woods does not project as a starter, he would give more experience and depth to a room that is largely unproven.
