GLENDALE – The Arizona Cardinals made plenty of noise during the NFL Draft, selecting Norte Dame running back Jeremiyah Love third overall. Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill and general manager Monti Ossenfort seemed innately focused on improving the offense in 2026. The first domino was hiring offensive-minded head coach Mike LaFleur from the Los Angeles Rams, and then drafting Love third overall, when many believed an edge rusher was a better pick. McBride seemingly is open to investing fully into the offense for next season. He wants his unit to become a “powerful” force, and he might get his wish. The two-time Pro Bowler will have a stellar running game with Love behind a retooled offensive line and returning receivers like Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson.

Arizona had the 23rd scoring offense last year, but its running game was truly atrocious. The Cardinals averaged 93.1 rushing yards per game, 31st in the NFL. With Love in the backfield and McBride ready to block for his new running back, LaFleur’s is expected to completely turn this ground game around and become a strong unit heading into next year.
