Truist Championship 2026: Rory McIlroy, Cameron Young lead signature field

Rory McIlroy and Cameron Young are plenty familiar after sharing the spotlight at Augusta last month.

McIlroy leads the field at Quail Hollow Club, a five-time winner in Charlotte and fresh off his back-to-back green jacket wins. Young, who tied for third at Augusta, also headlines the field after a stellar start to the season. The reigning Players champ won the signature event at Doral's Blue Monster in a dominant wire-to-wire showcase.

Matthew Fitzpatrick, Ludvig Åberg and Xander Schauffele are among the Tour elite joining McIlroy and Young in North Carolina, after a week of rest.

The most notable absence for the Tour's sixth signature event of the year will be Scottie Scheffler, who earlier this week spoke about getting rest ahead of the PGA Championship. Here's a look at the field as of Wednesday afternoon:

Since that posting, Collin Morikawa has withdrawn from the field with Andrew Putnam has replacing him in the 72-player event. Jake Knapp followed him as late withdrawal from the field on Tuesday, with Austin Smotherman coming in as an alternate.

Tony Finau, Max Homa, Mackenzie Hughes and Webb Simpson are playing on sponsor exemptions, while Scheffler, Russell Henley and Shane Lowry are officially sitting out.

Kristoffer Reitan, who slid into the Cadillac field this week after Jake Knapp withdrew with a thumb injury, is in the Quail Hollow field thanks to the Aon Swing 5. David Lipsky, Ricky Castillo, Matt Wallace and Chandler Blanchet are also playing on the Swing 5 exemption.

The alternates of the event are Jordan Smith, Michael Thorbjornsen and Brooks Koepka.

Koepka, a five-time major-winning, is set to headline the field in Myrtle Beach next week after waiting out as an alternate at and Doral.
