Truro City chief Perez leaves club after relegation

Truro City chairman and chief executive Eric Perez has left the relegated National League club.

The Canadian led the takeover of the Tinners by Ontario Inc investment group in November 2023.

They bought the club from Kernow Sport - the group that at the time also owned the Cornish Pirates rugby union team.

Perez, who made his name establishing the Toronto Wolfpack rugby league team, helped form Cornwall RLFC in 2022 that played in the third tier of English rugby league.

The Ontario Inc consortium sold the club in November 2024 to businessman Kenny Stone, but it went bust in April 2025.

Under Perez's time in charge Truro moved back to Cornwall at their new stadium on the outskirts of the city and won the National League South title last season.

"Eric leaves behind a remarkable and transformative legacy at Truro City as since leading the club's acquisition in late 2023, he has overseen one of the most compelling turnarounds in English football history," a club statement read.

"When he took the helm, the club was facing significant challenges - playing away from its home city, struggling near the bottom of the table and drawing only a small core of supporters.

"Under his leadership, Truro City experienced a dramatic resurgence both on and off the pitch.

"Following his departure, Eric will be pursuing a range of high-profile international opportunities across sport, business, and strategic investment."
