Like many of the Boston Red Sox, Garrett Crochet has been up and down to start the 2026 season.

Of his four starts so far, two have been good and two have been bad. Unfortunately, his road outing against the Minnesota Twins on Monday was probably the worst start of his career.

Crochet got shelled by the Twins at Target Field, allowing 11 runs (10 earned) on nine hits and three walks. The Red Sox ace surrendered two home runs, did not strike anyone out and lasted just 1 2/3 innings, falling to 2-2 with a 7.58 ERA this season.

Crochet's velocity was down, making his pitches more hittable. His command was also off, and Minnesota took full advantage en route to a 13-6 blowout.

After the rout, the Twins' social media team trolled the two-time All-Star with their witty game recap post on X.

"Took up a new hobby: Crocheting," was the clever caption, along with a ball of yarn emoji.

Minnesota is one of the few teams to have success against Crochet, perhaps because they used to share a division with hm. In 30 career innings against the Twins, he's 1-3 with a 6.30 ERA and a 1.53 WHP.

Interestingly, both of Crochet's rough performances this year have been on the road. He'll try to bounce back at home this weekend against the Detroit Tigers, who are also off to a slow start.
