The Denver Broncos are inviting quarterbacks E.J. Warner and Nathan Peterman for tryouts at rookie minicamp. Fans are reacting negatively on social media, particularly regarding Peterman's history in the NFL.
The Denver Broncos are bringing in two quarterbacks for tryouts at rookie minicamp this week. One of them is a 22-year-old rookie out of Fresno State: E.J. Warner, the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner. The other is a 32-year-old journeyman back who hasn't been in the NFL since 2024: Nathan Peterman. Peterman, unfortunately, is remembered for his historically bad NFL debut as a rookie with the Buffalo Bills in 2017. Peterman went 6-of-14 for 66 yards with no touchdowns and five interceptions before being benched at halftime of what ended up being a 54-24 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in his first career start. Given the QB's rough history, fans and pundits were not thrilled about Peterman getting a tryout with the Broncos this week. Here's a sampling of reactions from Twitter/X.
Said it before, I'll say it again: The NFL does not know how to quit Nathan Peterman, he of the career 39.4 passer rating
— Andrew Mason (@MaseDenver) May 6, 2026 Why out of all people 🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ I get it’s just have a camp arm but damn talk about bottom of the barrel.
— cgorangecrush (@cgorangecrush) May 6, 2026 I threw 8 TD’s in pop warner, I’m still a better option.
— Petr Javorek🇨🇿🇺🇸 (@pete\_javorek) May 6, 2026 Someday, when the blackmail dossier he has on NFL personnel is revealed, it's gonna be epic.
Nathan Peterman is trying out for the Broncos as a potential camp arm, especially with Bo Nix recovering from ankle surgery.
Nathan Peterman is known for his poor debut with the Buffalo Bills in 2017, where he recorded a passer rating of 39.4.
Fans are expressing skepticism and disappointment on social media, citing Peterman's past struggles as a reason for concern.

— Big Mike || Quinn Meinerz’s #1 Fan (@MeinerzMuse) May 6, 2026 Peterman and Warner will aim to impress at rookie minicamp with the hopes of earning a spot on the 90-man offseason roster ahead of organized team activities in June. Both players will face long odds, but with Bo Nix recovering from ankle surgery, Denver might consider signing a fourth QB. So the tryout players will have an opportunity to earn an (offseason) roster spot this week. **Social**: Follow Broncos Wire on Facebook and Twitter/X! **Did you know**: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans. *This article originally appeared on Broncos Wire: NFL: Twitter reacts to Nathan Peterman trying out for Denver Broncos*
