Glasnow has been a standout player for the Dodgers this season, even among their fantastic starting rotation.
The right-hander leads the team with 48 strikeouts on the season, and has a 2.72 ERA through his first seven starts of the year. He also has a 0.83 WHIP, which would register as the lowest tally of his career if he maintains his form throughout the season.
Additionally, he is yet to be credited with a loss this year.
His best outing of the season so far came against the San Francisco Giants on the road April 23, when he threw eight innings of shutout baseball and allowed just one hit while striking out nine batters. He also struck out nine in his last outing, which came against the Miami Marlins on April 29.
The Dodgers donāt have an immediate replacement on the roster at the moment, but the most likely candidate to fill the void left by Glasnow if he is to miss significant time is Blake Snell.
Snell is currently on his rehab assignment in Triple-A, and is sure to return to the team soon. He has made three starts between Single-A Ontario and Triple-A Oklahoma City during his rehab, and has allowed three earned runs through eight innings pitched.
