And their latest addition from the transfer portal is proof of that: Nikolas Khamenia is coming to Storrs from the Duke Blue Devils.
Khamenia entered the portal after his freshman season at Duke. And now he's committed to UConn.

There was some chatter that Khamenia could return to Duke, and other rumors involving the Arizona Wildcats.
In recent days, though, UConn seemed the most likely outcome, and that's how it worked out.
It's a big pickup for Dan Hurley and company.
The 6-foot-8 Khamenia has athleticism and shooting talent, and he averaged 5.7 points per game in his freshman season with the Blue Devils while playing maybe fewer minutes than he would've expected.
"Nik Khamenia started the year as a projected first-round pick on my draft board," ESPN's Jonathan Givony writes, "and I fully expect him to be back there. He's going to drive winning next year with his combination of connective passing, toughness, skill and improving shot-making. Turned 19 in late December."
Khamenia was thought by some to be a one-and-done player for Duke. That didn't happen.
If he has a big year in Connecticut, he could head to the league in a year's time.
