Southampton charged by EFL after Middlesbrough spying allegation
Southampton faces EFL charges over Middlesbrough spying claims.

The UConn Huskies just made a neat addition to their basketball program, with Dan Hurley securing the commitment of former three-star recruit Jaye Nash for the Storrs school this week. The player literally stands out at six feet and three inches. He was the 25th-best point guard in the class of 2024 and the 19th-best prospect out of the state of Virginia that year.
He initially joined the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in 2024, before transferring for the first time in 2025 to the Jacksonville State Gamecocks. He played in 20 games for Jax State last season, averaging six points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game. He also played in 21 games for Tulsa as a freshman.
According to reports, the player decided to join Dan Hurley and the Huskies shortly after a visit to Storrs on Wednesday. The player is not expected to become a starter for the star-studded Huskies, but he will add some much-welcomed depth to the lineup.
Dan Hurley is firmly against the idea of expanding the NCAA Tournament, as he believes the move could water down the importance of the regular season. For the UConn Huskies leader, the excitement of the regular season is the race to make it to March Madness. Massively expand the tournament, and whatâs even the point of the regular season?
He told CBS Sports as much this week:
âWhat I think makes the tournament special is the qualification for it,â Hurley told CBS Sports. âYou donât want the regular season to be rendered meaningless and to take away from November, December, January, February. The qualification process makes the regular season intense and pressure-packed.â
âIt should be a privilege to play in the tournament, not a right, and obviously if it expands too much and you donât have to have a real good season to make it, that would take away from the tournament. Does it get too big?â
His comments stem from the fact that the NCAA Tournament will expand to a whopping 76 teams starting in 2027. This is the first expansion of the tournament since the NCAA added three teams in 2011. This time around, the expansion is more massive, with the 2026 edition having had 68 teams.
