UFC 327 Forecast: Can Carlos Ulberg Upset Jiri Prochazka? Picks revealed

There’ll be a new UFC light heavyweight champion by the end of Saturday night in Miami.

Alex Pereira stepped away from the division to make his move up to heavyweight, leaving the 205lb title vacant.

In the UFC 327 main event, Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg will meet to decide who takes it.

Jordan Ellis: “I think this is the best version of Jiri Prochazka we’ve ever seen. With Alex Pereira gone, he could potentially dominate at light heavyweight for a few years. Carlos Ulberg is big, powerful, and smart enough to spring an upset, but I’m not convinced he’s ready for this moment. The longer this fight goes, the more I expect Prochazka to dominate.”

PREDICTION: JIRI PROCHAZKA BY KNOCKOUT

Donagh Corby: “I think Ulberg isn’t quite at that top level, but I’d love to be proven wrong. Jiri knows the big moments and how to deliver in them, and he’ll be desperate for the win. If he can fight composed but still a little wild, he should emerge victorious.”

PREDICTION: JIRI PROCHAZKA BY DECISION

Jamie Theodosi: “Ulberg will not be prepared for the wildness of Jiri Prochazka, a man who has found all of his success by being a pressure fighter and thriving in the fire. Although ‘Black Jag’ has slick kickboxing, he simply won’t have the time to stay on the outside and let his striking flow.”

PREDICTION: JIRI PROCHAZKA BY KNOCKOUT

Kyle Dimond: “I feel like this is going to be quite similar to Jiri’s fights last year. However, I’m not sure that Ulberg will be able to capitalize on Jiri’s weaknesses when he exposes them in quite the same way Pereira did. I can see Ulberg winning the first round though and maybe even dropping him again before being stopped in Round 2.”
