UFC 328 medical suspensions: Bouts took toll as 11 fighters suspended indefinitely

UFC 328 is in the books, and while it was a highly entertaining event for viewers, many of the fighters involved paid a price.

The event took place Saturday at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., and featured 13 bouts. Due to injuries sustained in action, 11 fighters were handed indefinite medical suspensions.

MMA Junkie acquired a list of suspensions Wednesday from the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board (NJSACB), which regulated the event. The medical suspensions include

Most notably receiving indefinite suspensions were headliner Sean Strickland, as well as both co-main event combatants, Joshua Van and Tatsuro Taira.

• Tatsuro Taira: Suspended indefinitely until CT head scan cleared by physician; also suspended 90 days with 60 days no contact for TKO.

• Grant Dawson: Suspended indefinitely until right tibia X-ray and tibia cleared by orthopedist; also suspended 30 days with 21 days no contact

• Jim Miller: Suspended indefinitely until left hand and X-rays cleared by orthopedist; also suspended 30 days with 15 days no contact.
• Jared Gordon: Suspended 30 days with 15 days no contact.
• Roman Kopylov: Suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact.
