According to an Instagram Reel by Rodriguez (20-5 MMA, 10-4 UFC), he has spent the past eight months jailed in Tijuana, Mexico, but is now a free man eager to return to his mixed martial arts career. In the video, the UFC-ranked No. 14 welterweight is shown working out inside a cell and hitting mitts in the hallway with a partner.

"8 months in a cage in Tijuana Mexico never killed my spirit," Rodriguez wrote. "I did everything possible to stay on point and ready for my return to the @ufc octagon, expect a hungrier more focused version of myself. They tried to take it all aaway now it's time for me to comeback and show you all the monster prisoon created, thank you to legal and managment team, family and real friends to help me be a free man today."
