UFC Vegas 118 shakeup: Injury forces McGhee–Wikłacz off Muhammad’s card

Belal Muhammad will look to end his two-fight losing skid at UFC Vegas 118 next month.

The former UFC welterweight champion is set to headline a card at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas.

Before he faces Gabriel Bonfim, there’s a packed undercard scheduled for June 6. Eleven undercard fights have been confirmed for Belal Muhammad’s return at UFC Vegas 118.

The matchup between Marcus McGhee (10-2) and Jakub Wikłacz (18-3-2) was shaping up to be one of the highlights of the event.

Jakub Wikłacz pulls out of UFC Vegas 118

But plans changed when Wikłacz announced on Saturday that he’d pulled out due to injury, putting a dent in the card.

The former KSW bantamweight champion shared on social media that an arm issue had ruled him out of the bout, leaving fans disappointed.

“The moment I didn’t expect has arrived,” Wikłacz wrote on Instagram alongside an image of his arm in a sling. Injury prevents me from fighting and training for a while.”

“I am now focused on recovery. I just need a moment to fix myself and come back even stronger. I will come back with double the force.”

No word yet on whether McGhee will stay on the card with a new opponent or be rescheduled for another date.

UFC Vegas 118 lineup still strong despite changes

The main event between Belal Muhammad and Gabriel Bonfim isn’t the only fight to watch on this card.

Brendan Allen and Edmen Shahbazyan will square off in a co-main event that’s likely to have implications in the middleweight division.
