UNC basketball secured key transfers on the final day of the portal, adding guards Terrence Brown and Matt Able, along with forward Maxim Logue. These additions significantly shape their roster for the 2026-27 season.
Tar Heel Nation started growing concerned about the UNC men's basketball team's lack of activity in the transfer portal.
On Tuesday, that all changed. North Carolina landed a pair of guards in Utah's Terrence Brown (19.9 points per game) and NC State's Matt Able, plus an unexpected forward in FAU's Maxim Logue.
With the Tar Heel's latest additions, they have a much clearer picture of their 2026-27 roster. Isaiah Denis returned from the portal, giving UNC its likely starting point guard. Brown will start at shooting guard, while Virginia Tech transfer Neoklis Avdalas will start at power forward.
Able likely competes with incoming freshman Maximo Adams for minutes at the wing, while Henri Veesaar still hasn't decided on his future. Logue, a 6'9" sophomore who played a year each with Oregon State and FAU, gives North Carolina versatility off the bench.
The portal closes on Tuesday, but that doesn't mean the Tar Heels are done adding to their roster. UNC is also linked to Wake Forest guard , who averaged over 21.4 points per game as the best player on a bad team. North Carolina could also add another surprise to the mix, like how Logue committed on Tuesday.

Seth Trimble is currently in the portal, searching for an extra year of eligibility, with hope he wins that case and comes back. The Tar Heels are now equipped to win without Trimble, but his return shoots them towards the fringe of ACC contention.
UNC fans started to grow nervous, but they need to remember Michael Malone is the new sheriff in town. Malone has a thing for landing top-end talent, as evidenced by his successful NBA run, with four portal commitments proving that point.
