UNC basketball captain leads NBA G League Combine in two categories

In today's college basketball world, it becomes increasingly rare for a student-athlete to stay at their school all four years. That's what makes Seth Trimble a rarity.

The senior guard from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin briefly entered the transfer portal, but quickly withdrew himself and turned into a North Carolina legend. Trimble posted his best season during the Tar Heels' 2025-26 campaign, averaging a career-high 14 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, while delivering his "shot heard 'round the world" to beat Duke.

Currently at the NBA G League Combine, Trimble is making his best case for an NBA roster, leading all participants in no-step vertical (38.5 inches) and max vertical (43.5 inches) measurements.

Add in speed, Trimble is also one of the Combine's top performers, recording a 2.81-second time (sixth) in the shuttle run and 3.08-second mark in the 3/4 court sprint.

Sure, Trimble is currently at the G League Combine, but best believe NBA scouts are taking notice. Trimble may strictly start with a G League roster, be signed to a 2-way contract, or simply go straight to the NBA.

Two of Trimble's teammates, Caleb Wilson and Henri Veesaar, are simultaneously . The NBA Draft is in June, with Wilson a projected lottery pick and Veesaar slated to be later in the first round, but Trimble's Combine emergence now brings him into the Draft conversation.
