The Boston Celtics, despite being undermanned, defeated the Orlando Magic 113-108 in their final regular season game. Luka Garza led the Celtics with a career-high 27 points, helping secure the victory as they prepare for the 2026 NBA Playoffs.
BOSTON — The Boston Celtics could've mailed it in on Sunday night against the Orlando Magic. They had nothing to play for and the injury report showed that, as the Celtics sat Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, Neemias Queta, and others to give them some rest. Yet, with just eight players available, the C's still met the Magic with the utmost effort and prevailed 113-108 at TD Garden.
The Celtics led by as many as 16 points despite being severely undermanned, but it became a tie game with 36 seconds to go following a 3-pointer from Magic guard Jalen Suggs. Everything still seemed to be going Boston's way though, and center Luka Garza proved that when he cashed a turnaround 3-pointer to send the crowd into a frenzy and give the Celtics a 111-108 lead with just 31.7 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
The Celtics won by relying on strong performances from their remaining players, including Luka Garza and Ron Harper Jr., who both scored career-high points.
The Boston Celtics finished the regular season with a record of 56-26.
The Celtics could face either the Philadelphia 76ers or the Orlando Magic in the first round of the playoffs.
