Manchester United stars lined up to ruthlessly troll former teammate Alejandro Garnacho after beating Chelsea 1-0 on Saturday evening at Stamford Bridge.
Matheus Cunha scored the only goal of the game to secure all three points for United and move the club closer to securing Champions League football.
United now have the luxury of a 10-point gap between themselves and the Blues, with five games left to play before the close of the campaign.
Garnacho was initially named on the bench but was brought on in the first half after Estevao picked up an injury. The Argentina international slotted into his favoured left side of the attack and endured a tough game against Diogo Dalot.
The Carrington academy product offered little going forward, with his dribbles and attacking forays repeatedly extinguished. Videos of his performance have since gone viral, with a section of United fans enjoying them while Chelsea fans pile on the criticism.
Garnacho departed United last summer in less than amicable fashion. Beloved as a youth product, he quickly lost some of that adoration due to attitude problems and off-the-pitch issues. Things boiled over after United’s Europa League exit to , when he publicly lambasted then-manager Ruben Amorim for naming him on the bench.

The forward also cast doubts over his Old Trafford future. Amorim responded by banishing him from the first team and placing him in the infamous ‘bomb squad’ before he was shipped to Chelsea for £40m. Garnacho’s move to Chelsea has yet to go according to plan. He has struggled and his performances have been a constant source of frustration for Chelsea fans.
Garnacho has managed just one Premier League goal all term.
After the final whistle, Luke Shaw posted a catalogue of pictures from the Chelsea game, the first one being an image of himself flooring Garnacho.
Shaw’s teammates joined in to take aim at the Chelsea man.
United captain Bruno Fernandes responded with a cheeky GIF that included the caption “That’s a violation.”
Ayden Heaven replied with a GIF relating to firing shots at Garnacho, while Joshua Zirkzee wrote, “Nice one mate.”
Youngsters Shea Lacey and Tyler Fletcher both responded with laughing emojis, as did Lisandro Martinez, who missed the game due to suspension.
Matheus Cunha wrote, “My duo.” Shaw liked a reply from social media personality AngryGine that read, “Who’s that c–t from Argentina?”, in reference to a chant towards Garnacho.
If the post-match mockery was any indication, Garnacho was far from popular in the United dressing room. At the very least, he had some distinctly frosty relationships, given how readily his ex-teammates lined up to ridicule him after their win.
