AEW is on the fast track to Double or Nothing, one of the company’s top pay-per-views of the year, set to take place on Sunday, May 24 from Louis Armstrong Stadium in Flushing, Queens, New York.
The first match made was Kazuchika Okada putting the AEW International Championship on the line against Konosuke Takeshita, a battle stemming from long-simmering tensions within the Don Callis Family. It feels like this could’ve happened in 2025, but they’re finally going head to head to settle their differences. Perhaps this leads into a longer feud, potentially with Takeshita turning babyface, unless there’s something else at play here.
FTR will also defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Adam Copeland and Christian Cage in what’s now an I Quit Match, as confirmed on the April 29 episode of Dynamite. If Copeland and Cage lose, they must retire as a team. These duos have been feuding since the fall of 2025, and they’ll go head-to-head once again in what could be a bloodbath of a match in May.
Figure the AEW World Championship will be on the line. Darby Allin has been put through the gauntlet as champion, defeating Tommaso Ciampa and Brody King in successive weeks, with another defense against Kevin Knight still to come. Odds are he makes it to Double or Nothing with the title, and if so, MJF feels like the likely challenger.
Long Island’s own has been told twice that he’ll need to put something on the line in order to get a rematch against Allin. It’s unclear what that’ll be at the moment, especially after MJF lost a TNT Championship match to Knight on Dynamite, but he still has the Dynamite Diamond Ring. Could that come into play?
Beyond that, more should be added as the Double or Nothing card continues to take shape. As of April 29, here’s the card and general information for the show:
