The SEC is home to six of the eight top teams in D1Softball's top-25 including the nation's No. 1 team, the Oklahoma Sooners. The SEC is the best and deepest softball conference in the country.
The Sooners remain No. 1 in the poll and SEC softball standings despite dropping a series to the Texas Longhorns. No. 2 Alabama, No. 4 Texas, No. 6 Arkansas, No. 7 Florida and No. 8 Tennessee are all top-10 teams. No. 11 Texas A&M and No. 12 Georgia are not far behind.
Over the weekend, No. 6 Arkansas will play No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 11 Texas A&M will play No. 14 Mississippi State and No. 4 Texas plays at No. 12 Georgia in the SEC's three ranked conference matchups.
The Georgia Bulldogs have a massive upcoming series at home (Turner Softball Stadium) against the No. 4 Texas Longhorns. Georgia hosts Texas from Saturday, April 18 to Monday, April 20 in a three-game series. The Bulldogs and Longhorns will have their Sunday game at noon ET televised on ESPN2. The Georgia-Texas series will be key for seeding in the SEC Tournament, which will be from May 5-9 in Lexington, Kentucky.
