Updates on Arsenal duoâs injuries in win over Newcastle
Mikel Arteta says the issues which forced Kai Havertz and Ebere Eze off in Arsenalâs win over Newcastle do not look too bad.
Eze scored the only goal of the game to send Arsenal back to the top of the Premier League having played a game more than Manchester City.
But Eze, along with Havertz, were forced off with injuries during the victory and providing an update on the pair, boss Arteta said: âThey are muscular niggles.
âWe donât think itâs too much but we have to wait and see whether theyâre going to be available for Wednesday.â
Asked about his own injury, Eze insists his substitution was precautionary.
âJust a precaution, I didnât want to do anything, so Iâll be okay,â he said.

Reflecting on the victory itself, Arteta said: âIâm really happy for the win. We talked about it being game one and we certainly did the job.
âWe probably should have finished with a bigger margin in certain moments of the game but when itâs 1-0 itâs always tough because they have quality and brought on so many good players from the bench as well.
âWhen we donât finish the actions, especially the open ones that we have, the margins are going to be smaller.â
Kai Havertz and Ebere Eze both experienced muscular niggles during the match against Newcastle.
Ebere Eze scored the only goal of the game, leading Arsenal to victory and back to the top of the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta indicated that the injuries to both players do not appear to be serious.
