USC's football, women's basketball, and men's basketball programs are excelling in recruiting, with football signing the No. 1 class for 2026 and women's basketball also securing the top spot. Men's basketball achieved its highest-ranked class in history at No. 3.
It is certainly an exciting time on the recruiting trail for USC. Lincoln Riley and the Trojans just signed the No. 1 recruiting class in the country for the 2026 cycle, and are loading up once again in 2027.
However, football is not the only USC team that is currently recruiting at an elite level. The womenâs basketball program is also bringing in the No. 1 class in the country, while menâs basketball landed the No. 3 class, tied for the highest-ranked in program history. Hence, the Trojans signed a top-three class in each of the three major sports for which recruiting rankings are available.
In addition, both football and womenâs basketball landed the No. 1 overall class of 2026 recruit in their respective sports. For football, defensive lineman Luke Wafle earned the top spot, while for womenâs basketball, Saniyah Hall took home the honors.
It took a few years, but it appears as though the Trojans have figured out recruiting in the NIL era of college sports. While things are certainly going to change plenty more in the years to come, that is a great sign for the future of USC Athletics. Now, it will fall on Lincoln Riley, Lindsay Gottlieb, and Eric Musselman to turn those recruiting wins into victories on the field/court.
