Another round of the NBA playoffs is about to begin. Multiple former USC Trojans are fighting for their chance to take home a championship ring. Evan Mobley remains the most impactful Trojan and the most important player to his team left in the field. His team's success falls on his back.
Here are the Trojans still playing in the second round of the NBA playoffs:
He saw two games of action in the first round series for the Spurs vs the Portland Trailblazers, but he only saw a minute in each game. McLaughlin, right now, is a player who will see time as the game reaches blowout territory, but he is still a serviceable veteran with experience in playoff games. Should the Spurs suffer an injury at guard, he is more than reliable enough to be thrust into the rotation.
In his first playoff series in his career, he was able to make history with his dad. His minutes have not been as much as he would have wanted, but in game 4, he saw 15 minutes. James made his impact in his big moment in the playoffs, posting 5 points and 4 assists. Bronny may not get his number called too much vs the Oklahoma City Thunder in round 2, but he has provided confidence that he can make the most of his minutes, even if it is just 5-15 minutes he is on the floor.
Evan Mobley was a big part of the Cleveland Cavaliers' success in round 1, and if it wasn't for a game-winner in overtime, he would have left game 6 a hero. Mobley is in a great position to be the deciding factor for what the Cavaliers' success ultimately ends up being this postseason. If he remains dominant, the Cavs have a great shot to go far; if not, the Cavaliers will come up short. In round 2, he will need to be at his best to reach his first Eastern Conference finals.
Evan Mobley and Jordan McLaughlin are among the former USC Trojans competing in the second round of the NBA playoffs.
Evan Mobley is considered the most impactful Trojan and a key player for his team as they advance in the playoffs.
Jordan McLaughlin has seen limited action in the playoffs, playing only a minute in each of the first two games for the Spurs.
The chances depend on the performance of players like Evan Mobley and the overall success of their respective teams in the playoffs.

I think Evan Mobley will dominate with the Cavs in a very favorable matchup for him vs the Pistons. He should have every advantage possible to be the elite scorer he can, and on the defensive side of things, he can take Tobias Harris completely out of the game. If Mobley can put it together and have an all-around great series, the Cavaliers can send the Pistons home in 5 games.
As for Bronny James and Jordan McLaughlin, I think both former Trojans will see the court at some point in their respective series. The Lakers could get blown out in the earlier games vs the Thunder, as they are still without Luka Dončić. The Spurs could have won the game where they smothered the Timberwolves, resulting in Jordan McLaughlin. If both players get thrust into the lineup due to injury or other reasons, I think both can answer the bell and be productive.
The Trojan that I think has the best shot to win a championship is Jordan McLaughlin. Jordan McLaughlin is on the Spurs, and the Spurs have a clear path to the Western Conference finals. They are facing a hobbling Minnesota Timberwolves, and then they will match up with more than likely the favorite out West in the Thunder. The Spurs have, however, beaten the Thunder more than anybody in the league. That could be a toss-up series. With Victor Wembanyama on your team, anything is possible. If the Spurs come out of the Western Conference, they will be the favorite to win the title.
