Bargatze, a Vanderbilt fan, is based in Nashville and appeared on ESPN's "College GameDay" in 2025 for the Commodores' game against Missouri. It was there Bargatze called out Curtis and asked him to flip his commitment from Georgia to Vanderbilt, and also threw out the idea of being in a movie.
"Just remind Jared Curtis how much I would love for you to come to Vanderbilt," he said on the broadcast. "And weâre local kids. Weâll become best friends, bud.â
Bargatze is holding up his end of the bargain. Now, Curtis will appear in the movie wearing a Vanderbilt hat while shopping for a car, according to the report.
Curtis, the No. 4 overall recruit and No. 2-ranked quarterback nationally in the 2026 class, chose Vanderbilt, his hometown school, two weeks later. Other stars like Colin Jost from NBC's "Saturday Night Live," Mandy Moore and Kumail Ali Nanjiani will also appear in the film. Curtis is competing with Blaze Berlowitz for the starting job this fall.
