Chelsea competed well in the first half of this game against Man City, but just after half time there’s been a predictable collapse from Liam Rosenior’s team. The visitors came out with far more energy, while Chesea were unable to go up a gear.
Rayan Cherki was at the heart of the first, putting in a nice cross for Nico O’Reilly, who brushed off Andrey Santos and headed home.
It was just too easy in the end – a lot of good first half work was undone in that moment. And you just knew that this fragile Blues team were more likely to concede another than score themselves.

Before long, City had another. Cherki was at the heart of it again, darting around the edge of the box and hitting an outside of the foot pass between the lines to Marc Guehi. The Chelsea academy product took a superb touch and lashed in the finish to make it 2-0.
Anyone who has watched Chelsea this season will have known it was game over at that point. The third followed soon after.
