Nate Diaz and Mike Perry faced off for the first time at a press conference in New York ahead of their fight on May 16. Both fighters are returning to MMA after several years and are expected to deliver an exciting matchup on Netflix.
NEW YORK – Nate Diaz and Mike Perry got face-to-face for the first time on Wednesday in advance of their highly anticipated scrap on Netflix.
Diaz (21-13) and Perry (14-8) will return to MMA competition for the first time in multiple years when they clash in the featured welterweight bout of the May 16 mega-event on Netflix from Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif.
The matchup came together in somewhat surprising fashion, but with a massively positive reception. Diaz and Perry are both fan favorite with action-heavy styles of fighting, and they will test each other on a gigantic platform in a bout everyone is expecting to create fireworks.
Diaz vs. Perry was not added to the Rousey vs. Carano card at the first press conference in March, so Wednesday's press conference at Palladium Times Square in Manhattan allowed them the first opportunity to size each other up.
