The Minnesota Vikings have released rookie outside linebacker Jordan Botelho just weeks after signing him. Botelho participated in the team's rookie minicamp but did not secure a spot on the offseason roster.

Just a few short weeks after inking him to a contract, the Minnesota Vikings have parted ways with an undrafted free-agent signing.
The Vikings announced on Thursday that they have cut ties with outside linebacker Jordan Botelho, who was officially signed just days after the 2026 NFL Draft.
Botelho took part in the team’s rookie minicamp from May 8-9, but he apparently didn’t do enough to justify an offseason roster spot.
Now, he’ll look to get his NFL dream back on track somewhere else.
Botelho played his college ball at Notre Dame, where he had six years of eligibility.
In that span, the 6-foot-2, 248-pound outside linebacker tallied 97 combined tackles, 12.5 sacks and 16.5 tackles for loss in 62 collegiate games for Notre Dame.

With the opened up roster spot, the Vikings added wide receiver Terrill Davis, who spent the 2025 campaign at Oklahoma State.
Davis, who was formerly a basketball player in high school before changing to football in his senior year, posted 29 receptions for 373 yards in 12 games last season.
Prior to his stint with the Cowboys, Davis attended Central Oklahoma, where he led all NCAA wide receivers, regardless of division, with 1,609 receiving yards in 2024.
He broke multiple school records, including the single-season mark for receiving yards and touchdowns with 15.
Davis also became the first player in UCO history to tally three 200-yard receiving contests in a single campaign.
The Oklahoma State product will face an uphill climb in making the roster, as is the case with all undrafted rookies coming into the NFL, but perhaps he can find a spot on the practice squad after final cuts.
The Vikings released Jordan Botelho because he did not perform well enough during the rookie minicamp to earn a spot on the offseason roster.

With rookie minicamp in the books, the Vikings will now turn their attention to Organized Team Activities (OTAs).
That will run from May 20-21, May 23, May 28-29, May 31 and June 10-13.
In between those dates, Minnesota will hold a mandatory minicamp from June 4 through June 6, which all players on the team will attend.
Once OTAs are done, the Vikings will enjoy a summer break before returning for training camp in late July.
The preseason will then begin in August, the Vikings will make their final cuts later in the month, and then the regular season will begin in September.
