Now that the 2026 NFL Draft has concluded, the next order of business for the Minnesota Vikings is to find themselves a new General Manager. After firing Kwesi Adofo-Mensah several months ago, the Vikings went through the offseason with a sort of makeshift front office featuring Rob Brzezinski in the lead role and plenty of input from head coach Kevin OâConnell and others on personnel matters.
Brzezinski has expressed interest in taking over the seat that Adofo-Mensah vacated, but the team will be conducting a full search, stating as much in a press release that they put out a short time ago.
The statement, in its entirety, reads as follows:
With the conclusion of the 206 NFL Draft, our search for the next general manager of the Minnesota Vikings is underway. This will be a thorough and deliberate process led by ownership, with support from a small internal advisory committee of senior leaders. We have also engaged respected firm TurnkeyZRG to assist in conducting a wide-ranging search that includes experienced football executives, emerging candidates and individuals with diverse professional backgrounds. Our focus is to identify a decisive leader with a clear vision for team building, strong communication skills and the ability to build alignment across an organization. Out of respect for all involved, we do not intend to publicly announce candidates and will provide further comment when the search is complete.
I added the emphasis on the part where the team says that theyâre not going to publicly announce the candidates for the job. If youâll recall the Vikingsâ last GM search following the firing of Rick Spielman, the team put out tweets after they interviewed each of the candidates for the job. I believe they interviewed around nine or ten candidates for the position before the hired Adofo-Mensah for the position. It doesnât sound like theyâre going to be doing that this time.
Kwesi Adofo-Mensah was fired as part of the team's restructuring efforts after the 2026 NFL Draft.
Rob Brzezinski is currently leading the front office but the Vikings will conduct a full search for a new General Manager.
The timeline for the Vikings' General Manager search has not been specified, but it follows the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft.

If we see or hear any speculation as to who the Vikings may be bringing in for the job. . .outside of Rob Brzezinski, obviously, as weâve thought he was a candidate for the job all along. . .weâll pass that speculation along to you. Unfortunately, itâs entirely possible that we might not know anybody thatâs interviewing for the job until the team announces that theyâre hiring someone a few weeks from now.
