The Boston Bruins traded for Viktor Arvidsson this offseason, and he likely exceeded expectations.
Arvidsson was expected to be a middle-six forward for the Bruins this season, but he contributed more offensively than expected. He was part of Boston’s second line alongside Casey Mittelstadt and Pavel Zacha, which had plenty of success.
Following the Bruins' being eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Arvidsson revealed he plans to talk to general manager Don Sweeney about a return to Boston.
“I had so much fun,” Arvidsson said on Sunday. “It was a great year. I am happy to talk to Sweens about coming back, it’s just a lot of areas that need to be figured out with my family and stuff like that. I really like it here, so I am open to it.”
Arvidsson completed his two-year, $8 million deal and with the Bruins, he recorded 25 goals and 29 assists for 54 points in 69 games this past season with Boston.
For now, Arvidsson will enter the offseason rehabbing his injuries, as he didn’t play in Games 5 or 6 due to injuries. After the series ended, the Swede revealed he had a fractured rib and punctured lung.
