Killingy’s Jake Beaudreault has been voted The Bulletin athlete of the week for April 20-25.
The Trailblazers sophomore went 3-for-3 with a double and a home run in a 5-4 baseball win over Wheeler. Beaudreault scored the game-winning run on Brady Girardin’s walk-off single. He also struck out five in 1.2 relief innings to earn the pitching win.
Beaudreault also pitched a complete game shutout in a 13-0 win over Quinebaug Valley. He allowed just two hits while striking out five.
Last week saw plenty of standout performances in baseball, softball, boys and girls outdoor track and field, boys golf, and girls lacrosse across Eastern Connecticut. While there's no shortage of talent, we went and found the best of the best.

The Warriors senior went 5-for-5 with four doubles and six RBIs in Norwich Tech’s 18-6 baseball victory over Goodwin Tech.
The Wolverines senior won the 100 with a personal best time of 10.9, the 200 (22.90), and the pole vault (12-0) to lead Griswold to a 105-43 boys outdoor track and field victory against Montville.
The Wildcats senior collected four hits, including a two-run homer, in NFA’s 16-7 baseball victory against Bacon Academy. It was the Wildcats seventh straight win.
The Wildcats senior scored three goals, including the game-winning goal in overtime, to lift NFA to a thrilling 13-12 girls lacrosse victory over Fitch on Senior Night. Combies also had two assists.
The Wildcats senior blasted a three-run homer to break a tie in the seventh inning in NFA’s 7-5 softball victory over Bacon Academy. Driscoll also had two RBIs in the Wildcats’ 14-2 win over Woodstock Academy.
The Trailblazers senior hit a walk-off double to center field to give Killingly a thrilling 14-13 softball victory over Woodstock Academy in the annual Morgan Ross Memorial game. Durand’s double moved her past Ashley Veillette as Killingly’s all-time career hits leader.
The Golden Eagles junior went 4-for-5 with three RBIs in Ellis Tech’s 18-6 softball win against Windham.
The Panthers junior won the 200 with a personal best time of 27.1, the 100 hurdles (18.1), and 300 hurdles (49.0) in Plainfield’s girls outdoor track and field loss against St. Bernard.
The Trailblazers junior lefthander tossed a complete game two-hitter with 10 strikeouts in Killingly’s 5-0 baseball win against Windham.
The Wolverines junior shared medalist honors with a round of 39 in a boys golf tri-match with East Lyme and Stonington. Wells also earned medalist honors with a 37 in Griswold’s 7-0 victory over Windham.
