Vote for the Delaware High School Athlete of the Week for Week 3 of the spring sports season. Nominations can be submitted until Sunday, with public voting open from Monday to Thursday.
Help decide which performance was the best in Delaware high school sports during Week 3 of the spring sports season. Vote for the Delaware Online High School Sports Athlete of the Week, presented by Delaware Orthopaedic Specialists.
Nominations for Athlete of the Week and Team of the Week can be sent to high school sports reporter Brandon Holveck at bholveck@delawareonline.com. The nomination period closes Sunday. Please send the name of the team or athlete you would like to nominate and a brief summary of their accomplishments in the past week.
Polls are open to the public with unlimited voting from Monday through Thursday. Winners are announced Friday. Here are this week's nominees:
Ryan McAllister, Concord baseball: McAllister had two doubles and two triples in a 11-1 win over Tatnall and a 4-3 loss to Archmere.
Gavin Miller, Appoquinimink baseball: Miller had three hits and drove in multiple runs in a 17-0 win over Hodgson.
Tanai Tippens, Saint Mark's softball: Tippens had three hits in a 15-1 win over Laurel and a two-run home run in an 8-4 win over Delaware Military Academy.
Charlotte Vanni, Tower Hill girls lacrosse: Vanni scored seven goals in a 17-3 win over Sussex Academy.
Katharine Weigand, Wilmington Friends girls soccer: Weigand scored four goals and had an assist in a 6-1 win over Tower Hill.
