The OSAA spring sports season is marching on and Salem-area boys athletes across baseball, track and field, volleyball, golf and tennis are regularly putting in impressive performances.

Here are the nominees for this week’s boys Athlete of the Week.

Athlete of the Week
Barnett, a senior, threw 150 feet, 11 inches in discus April 11 for first at the Rob Frank Invitational. His mark is the second best in all of Class 2A.

Buckingham, a junior, pitched four innings and struck out seven batters April 16 in the Saxons' 11-0 five-inning win over McNary.
The nominees include James Barnett, Harrison Buckingham, Josiah Hawkins, Sam Hoda, Frank Pohlschneider, Hunter Rivers, and Deontae Washington.

Hawkins, a junior, won the 100 meters in 11.07 seconds April 15 at the OWC Tri Meet. His time is the fifth best in Class 4A this season.

Rivers, a senior, recorded three hits, including a home run, and four RBIs April 15 in the Dragons' 13-12 thriller win over South Albany.
Washington, a sophomore, ran 15.87 seconds in the 110 hurdles for first April 11 at the Rob Frank Invitational. His mark is the third best in Class 3A this season.
