The 2026 IHSAA boys track and field season will feature multiple field athletes who can consistently produce outstanding results. Vote for who you believe will win boys field athlete of the year in IndyStarās latest fan poll!

Hayden is carrying the momentum from his third-place finish at state last season into this one. Hayden finished second in the large-schools final at Hoosier State Relays on March 28 with a 6-8 leap. The Fishers senior claimed first place at the Fall Creek Pavilion HSR Qualifier on March 5 and at Brownsburg HCC Indoor on March 11.
The Plainfield senior has the second-highest jump of the season at 6-9, which he posted in a win at Brownsburg Bulldog Last Chance on March 21. Stead also placed first at Mid-State Indoor and at the Whiteland HSR Qualifier. Stead finished fourth at the large-schools final.
The Ben Davis junior placed third at HSR in the large-schools final with a 6-6 leap. He captured first place at Indiana State HSR Last Chance on March 21 with a 6-5 jump.
The Westfield sophomore placed ninth in the large-schools final at Hoosier State Relays on March 28 with a 14-0 leap. Lemieux finished second at the Fall Creek Pavilion HSR Qualifier and at the IWU/Marion Qualifier.
Marcum finished seventh in the small-schools final at HSR with a seasonās best 13-3 vault (ranked 22nd in the state this season). The Cascade senior placed second at the Red Devil Classic HSR Qualifier, third at the Warren Central HSR Qualifier and fifth at Indiana State Last Chance.
Glennās vault of 14-0 at the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference Indoor Championships on March 20 is the 13th-best in the state. Glenn finished first and went on to claim 13th place at HSR eight days later. The Lawrence North junior placed second at both Warren Central qualifiers. Glenn, who finished second at sectional last season, is aiming for a state appearance this season.
The candidates include Konrad Hayden from Fishers, who has shown impressive results this season.
Voting closes on April 20 at noon.

Adebayo placed 10th at Hoosier State Relays with a leap of 21-8.25. He finished first at the Fall Creek Pavilion HSR Qualifier on March 3 with a 23-3 jump. The Avon senior placed ninth at state last season.
The five-star Lawrence North wide receiver also happens to be good at long jump. Sales has the fifth-best jump of the season at 22-9.5, which he recorded during a first-place finish at the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference Indoor Championships on March 20. Sales, who finished 11th at state last season, hasnāt finsihed below third place this season.
Rasheed posted a personal best with a 61-3 put (second best in the state) at Brownsburg Bulldog Last Chance on March 21. The Avon senior hasnāt lost in shot put this season. He won the large-schools final at HSR. Rasheed finished 15th at state last season and first in discus throw.
The Fishers junior finished 12th in the large-schools shot put final at HSR. He placed second at Brownsburg Hoosier Crossroads Conference Indoor and at Fall Creek Pavilion HSR Qualifier. Cantwell captured a sectional title last season.
The Whiteland senior started the season with three straight victories before placing fourth at Mid-State Indoor on March 17. Scudder finished 20th in the large-schools final at HSR. He finished runner up at sectional and regional last season.
The Herron freshman is making a name for himself in his first season, boasting a 17th-best put of 53-3.5, which he registered during a sixth-place finish in the small-schools final at HSR. Schrum finished third at the Red Devil HSR Qualifier on March 7 and sixth at the Fall Creek Pavilion qualifier on March 19. Expect Schrum to make some noise at state.
Montgomery is on a mission to make state this season after failing to advance past regional in 2025. The Mooresville senior opened the campaign with a third-place finish at the first Whiteland HSR Qualifier, but place eighth in the second meet on March 13. He redeemed himself and finished runner up at Mid-State Indoor and Last Chance. He placed sixth in the large-schools final at HSR.
Nelson placed third in the shot put at sectional last season. The Roncalli senior finished fifth at the Fall Creek Pavilion Hoosier State Relays Qualifier and fourth at the Warren Central qualifier, where he registered a personal best of 52-3. He finished seventh at the Fall Creek Pavilion Qualifier on March 19. He finished 14th in the large-schools final at HSR with a. put of 50-1.75.
Redmon is one of two freshmen to record a top 50 jump this season (Gibson Southernās Matias Ochoa is the other). Redmon placed second at Brownsburg Individuals with a leap of 20-8 on March 7. He produced the same result at Brownsburg Hoosier Crossroads Conference Indoor on March 11. The star Bulldog captured his first win of the season at Brownsburg Bulldog Last Chance on March 21. He placed seventh in the large-schools HSR final.
Omodusonu started the 2026 campaign with a fourth-place finish at Brownsburg Individuals. He followed with a sixth-place finish at Brownsburg Indoor before placing third at Brownsburg Last Chance. The Brownsburg sophomore recorded a seasonās best 6-4 jump and captured sixth place at HSR.
The Lawrence Central senior has redemption on his mind after failing to clear the bar at state last season. After starting the season with a sixth-place finish at the Warren Central Qualifier, Do responded and captured first place at the second Warren Central qualifier and at the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference Indoor Championships. Do didnāt record a height at HSR, but should be encouraged as the season heads into outdoor given his performance during qualifying and at the conference championship.
The Zionsville senior placed first against Brownsburg on March 5 with a seasonās best leap of 6-4. Fleming finished second at Brownsburg HCC Indoor and at the Red Devil Last Chance HSR Qualifier.
Kerns placed second with a leap of 21-10.5 at the Warren Central HSR Qualifier on March 11. He registered a personal best 22-5 at MIC Indoor. The Lawrence Central junior finished 16th in the large-schools HSR final.
The Carmel sophomore recorded a personal best jump of 22-6.5 in a third-place finish at HSR this year. Itās a vast improvement after Broadnax placed 17th in the large-schools HSR final last season. Broadnax finished third at the Fall Creek Pavilion HSR Qualifier on March 17 and first at IWU/Marion HSR Qualifier.
The Cathedral junior placed sixth in the large-schools HSR final with a personal best leap of 22-2.5, good enough to earn him sixth place. Johnson started the season with a victory at the Whiteland HSR Qualifier on March 6. He placed fourth at the Fall Creek qualifier meet with a 22-1 jump.
The Avon senior finished fifth at Brownsburg Bulldog Last Chance on March 21, four days after placing third at the Fall Creek Pavilion HSR Qualifier. Allen captured first place at the Hoosiers Crossroads Conference Indoor on March 11 and second at the Red Devil Rumble HSR Qualifier on March 14. Allen finished fourth at sectional last season with a personal-best vault of 13-6.
The Carmel senior placed fourth at sectional last season, but Watson didnāt qualify for state after a ninth-place finish at regional. Watson finished fourth at the IWU/Marion HSR Qualifier No. 2 and third at the third IWU/Marion qualifying meet. He placed at the Fall Creek Pavilion HSR Qualifier on March 17 and sixth at Last Chance on March 21.
Scheerer holds the 27th-best vault in the state at 13-0, which he posted in a fourth-place finish at the Fall Creek Pavilion HSR Qualifier. The Westfield senior placed second at the IWU/Marion HSR Qualifier No. 3 on March 14.
