WEST MONROE — The West Monroe High School baseball team will look different heading into next season.
Wade Simoneaux is set to retire following 12 seasons leading the Rebels. Prior to his West Monroe tenure, Simoneaux coached at Ascension Catholic (1986-89), Episcopal (1990-95) and Louisiana Tech (2003-14). He was also an assistant at East Ascension (1989-90) and Louisiana-Lafayette (1995-02).

West Monroe appeared in the state championship for four straight seasons from 2021-24, winning titles in 2022 and 2024 with Simoneaux at the helm. The Rebels finished last spring with a 25-10 record and fell in the second round to Destrehan. West Monroe will graduate multiple players from the 2026 campaign, including ace and LSU signee Bradyn Cupit, catcher Ryder DeJean and shortstop and Arkansas State Three Rivers commit Kade Thomas.
