Golden State Warriors star forward Draymond Green predicted that this season was Steve Kerr's final year as head coach of the team.
Green shared his thoughts on the most recent episode of his podcast. "The Draymond Green Show."
"I hope he's our coach next season," Green said. "You want my opinion? I think not. Just because it feels like that. It felt like that was it."
Green went on to say that his future with the Warriors is also uncertain.
"I've never been so uncertain since earlier in my career in what happens next," Green continued. "But I'm truly at a loss now because you don't know what direction will be next. ... I also hope I'm on this team next season. We also don't know that. Man, if it was, what a run."
The Warriors were eliminated from the play-in on Friday by the Phoenix Suns. They had a chance to make their fourth playoff appearance in the last five seasons.
Instead, their season came to an end, and now the Warriors have a ton of question marks around the team, especially surrounding Kerr. The 60-year-old head coach said he will plan to take the next week or two to mull over his future.
"I still love coaching, but I get it," Kerr said late Friday night in Phoenix. "These jobs all have an expiration date. There is a run that happens, and when the run ends, sometimes it's time for new blood and new ideas."
