The Golden State Warriors are expected to be patient in evaluating head coach Steve Kerr's future with the team after the season.

ESPN's Anthony Slater said that there will be no clarity on Kerr's future with the team in the immediate aftermath of their season, whenever that takes place.

"The one thing I could say for certain is we're not getting the answer tonight," Slater said before the Warriors' win over the Clippers on Wednesday. "He's on the last year of his deal; he purposely didn't seek out a contract extension. I tried to seek out an answer from him, including this week talking to him over at the facility and he still says he's uncertain. Part of that is that there are a lot of bigger picture questions that they need to sit down organizationally. He says he still needs to talk to Steph Curry, Mike Dunleavy and Joe Lacob about those, and he hasn't had those conversations."

Kerr is in the final year of his contract. While there is a ton of question marks surrounding his future in the Bay Area, that was the last thing on his mind after their epic play-in win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

“There’s a reason we have four championships,” Kerr said, per Slater. “With all the wins we’ve ever had here — a lot of them with a lot more at stake — this is right up there. Just because of where we are and our age and the decline of our performance this year and our injuries. It was just a beautiful display of competitive will.”

Steve Kerr’s Legacy Remains Untouched

Kerr is, without a doubt, the most successful coach in the Warriors' history and of all time. While that is the case, the last few seasons have been tough. Some of it has been out of his control, including this season with the injuries to and Stephen Curry this season.
