Former India and Mumbai Indians captain, Rohit Sharma, joked about playing a slow knock during MI's run chase against PBKS on Thursday in Dharamsala.
After restricting PBKS to 200 runs, MI started their run chase on a bright note. While Ryan Rickleton took the responsibility of pacing the innings with a fiery knock, Sharma played the anchor role from the other end.
Rickleton ended up scoring 48 runs in 28 balls, while Sharma was dismissed for 25 runs in 26 deliveries. Sharma's slow knock, however, did not affect the team's run chase, as Tilak Varma (75), alongside Sherfane Rutherford and Will Jacks, ensured MI crossed the line.
After the match, Sharma addressed the MI dressing room as he jokingly poked fun at his own innings and labelled it is a Test knock. He said, "Great win, it was a complete team effort with the bat. It was good to see everyone chip in while I was enjoying my bit of Test cricket."

After years of serving Mumbai Indians as a loyal servant, ace Indian pacer, Jasprit Bumrah finally got his due as on Thursday, May 14, he finally got the opportunity to lead MI in an IPL game. The experienced pacer was named captain in the absence of Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav.
Bumrah passed the test with flying colours as MI ended their losing streak in the ongoing season and beat Punjab Kings by 6 wickets.
The pacer, however, continued to struggle with his form as a bowler as he once again went wicketless against PBKS.
In the current campaign, Bumrah has picked up only three wickets in 12 innings and has recorded a disastrous average of 128.00.
Even at the twilight of his career, five-time IPL-winning captain Rohit Sharma continues to remain a pillar in the Mumbai Indians dressing room.
