Former Washington State and Maryland guard Isaiah Watts was on an official visit to Washington on Saturday, marking the second ex-Cougar to make a trip out to Seattle since the transfer portal opened earlier this month.
Watts, the grandson of former Seattle Super Sonics legend Donald 'Slick' Watts and son of ex-UW standout Donald Watts, posted to his Instagram a photo of the West Seattle High School product taking in Saturday's women's soccer match against Gonzaga.
As a junior for the Terrapins, the Evergreen State native averaged 4.3 points and 1.8 rebounds per game over eight starts and 32 total appearances in his lone season in College Park this past season.
Prior to the 2025-26 season, Watts spent two seasons in Pullman, with 17 starts and 54 total appearances at WSU. All of his starts came as a sophomore, where the UW legacy averaged 11 points, 3.7 boards, and 2.1 assists for the Huskies' in-state rival.
With three transfer guards already secured since the portal opened on April 8âParker Friedrichsen (Davidson), Steele Venters (Gonzaga) and Ryan Beasley (San Franciscoâand Watts' former WSU teammate, forward LeJuan Watts (Texas Tech), the Huskies are still searching for a handful of rotational pieces to add to the 2026-27 roster with only four returning scholarship players from last season.
Should Watts become the fourth transfer addition for Sprinkle this month, the former WSU and Maryland guard would be a potential starter for the Huskies while competing with Venters, Friedrichsen, and Yates III for minutes at the second guard spot next to Beasley, who is expected to be UW's starting point guard this coming season.
As a high school standout, the West Seattle guard earned All-Metro-League honors his final two years as a junior and senior, spending his free time training with several notable former UW men's basketball guards Markelle Fultz, Isaiah Thomas, Brandon Roy, and Nate Robinson, almost making his return to the Emerald City destiny.
The goal for both Watts and Sprinkle will be to find a way to get the Huskies' program back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019.
