Danny Sprinkle and the Washington Huskies are looking to reel in some big names on the recruiting trail in the 2027 class, and among their top targets is five-star wing Malachi Jordan.
Jordan, a 6-foot-7, 225-pound product of Dream City Christian High School in Glendale, Arizona, is ranked as the No. 11 player in the nation and No. 3 small forward according to the 247Sports Composite, and has become one of the most coveted prospects in the class.
He holds 18 offers and took an official visit to Washington in late October, but is receiving significant interest from Missouri, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt. While the Tennessee native is strongly weighing staying close to home, Sprinkle's coaching staff has put together an enticing pitch to get him to Seattle.
“They have a new practice gym over there, and it was really nice," Jordan told Rivals' Jamie Shaw. "I mean, it’s Seattle. You know, it’s always raining and stuff, so I’m not really with the weather, but (Danny Sprinkle) is a great guy, (Assistant coach Abdul Gaddy) and I talk all the time. Coach Gaddy is a player’s coach; we always talk about how I can’t guard him or something like that. It’s a cool experience with them.”
As Sprinkle builds out his roster for the long-term, Jordan would be a great fit on the wing as the Huskies hope Jasir Rencher can get healthy after dealing with a heart issue that ended his 2025-26 season, and freshman Lattimore Ford can establish himself as part of the rotation.
"The 6-foot-6 prospect was valuable in his utility as a rebounder and defender, but he also showed some ability to go get his own bucket," 247Sports' Travis Barnham said of Jordan after watching him at a USA Basketball minicamp. "He played hard on both ends of the court, finished strong at the rim, and showed some flashes of potential as a shooter in time."
