Wini Braga, a 6-foot-9 forward from Brazil, has committed to the Washington Huskies but is still considering his options for the future. The 21-year-old averaged 10.1 points and 6 rebounds in Brazil's top league and may either join Washington or remain with his current team, Minas.
After earning a commitment from Brazilian forward Wini Braga, Danny Sprinkle and the Washington Huskies are expecting the 6-foot-9 post player to bring an immediate impact to the frontcourt in the Big Ten.
However, the 21-year-old, who averaged 10.1 points, 6 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game across 19.7 minutes per contest for Minas in the Novo Basquete Brazil, the country's highest league, appears to still be mulling some things over in his future, since Washington has yet to announce that he has officially signed with the program.
"It's still very uncertain. There are really things that could happen for me to go abroad (to Washington). But there are also things that could happen for me to stay (with Minas)," Braga said after a loss to Corinthians in the NBB playoffs, according to Brazilian journalist Emanuel Leite.

A polished player on the offensive end, Braga would be expected to step into a significant role on day one after freshman star Hannes Steinbach departed for the NBA draft after averaging 18.5 points and 11.8 rebounds per game last year. While Braga might not be able to match those All-Big Ten-caliber numbers, Sprinkle's coaching staff certainly sees him as a key piece moving forward.
He'd join a rotation that includes forwards LeJuan Watts and Nikola Dzepina, along with centers Lathan Sommerville and Mady Traore, as the Huskies look to take another step forward in the Big Ten, and Braga looks to compete at the highest level.
"My biggest goal right now is to play at a high level, whether here, in Europe, in the US, anywhere. I just want to be on big teams, competing for big things, preferably titles," Braga continued. "My performance this year was good. I managed to evolve a lot with everyone's help. I think my future belongs to God. We'll see what happens."
