As the Washington Huskies continue to hunt for defensive linemen to add to their 2027 class, local edge rusher Ty Tautolo is an intriguing name to watch.
The three-star prospect from Lake Stevens High School, who stands at 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds, and is ranked as the nation's No. 598 overall prospect and No. 51 edge rusher by the 247Sports Composite, was spotted on campus during Washington's spring game on Friday for an unofficial visit as the Huskies look to build on the nation's No. 10-ranked class.
He holds 16 offers and has yet to set up any official visits, but has caught the eye of 16 programs around the country, with California, Michigan, Oregon, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, and USC all in pursuit of his services after he put together a productive junior season.
Tautolo compiled 90 tackles, with an eye-popping 30 for loss, 6 sacks, and a fumble recovery during his junior campaign, while showing off a lot of the traits that defensive coordinator Ryan Walters and outside linebackers coach Aaron Van Horn are looking for at the position.
His size and length on the edge are apparent, and he plays with great strength against the run with plenty of room to add weight to his frame, which could help him develop into an impact defender at the next level. Combined with his impressive athleticism, highlighted by an understanding of how to dip his hips and turn the corner to get to the quarterback, Tautolo's traits could fit very well in the Big Ten.
As the Huskies look to continue to add to their defensive front, which currently holds pledges from four-star defensive tackle Jon Ioane and three-star defensive lineman Matamatagi Uiagalelei, Fisch's coaching staff could work quickly to set up a visit with the promising local pass rusher.
