The Washington Huskies will host five-star 2028 edge rusher Landen Wade for an unofficial visit this weekend. Wade, a top prospect from Arizona, has received 20 offers from major programs including Ohio State and Notre Dame.
The Washington Huskies are going to have a major target in the 2028 class on campus for an unofficial visit over the weekend in five-star edge rusher Landen Wade.
Jedd Fisch's coaching staff extended an offer to the 6-foot-5, 250-pound product of Basha High School in mid-April and wasted no time getting him on campus as it continues its attempt to build a pipeline to the state of Arizona, where Wade is ranked as the No. 2 player in the 2028 class behind only five-star edge rusher Jalanie George.
Also ranked as the No. 20 overall prospect and No. 7 edge rusher by the 247Sports Composite, Wade holds 20 offers with Arizona, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Texas A&M all in pursuit of his services, making this visit a key time for defensive line coach Jason Kaufusi to build a relationship with the coveted pass rusher.
During his sophomore year, he tallied 24 tackles, 12 for loss, with 4 sacks and 11 quarterback hurries while playing in just eight games, but he displayed all the traits of a future impact defensive lineman at the college level.
While he's listed as an edge rusher, Wade's future may be on the interior, as his frame has plenty of room to add weight. Combined with his relentless motor and high-end athleticism, which give him a promising ceiling as a pass rusher, he displays great natural power while setting the edge and defending the run no matter where he's lined up along the defensive front.
Since his arrival, Fisch has tried to establish a pipeline to the talent-rich Grand Canyon State. The Huskies signed a pair of Freshman All-Americans from the state in 2025 in safety Rylon Dillard-Allen and wide receiver Dezmen Roebuck, and hold three blue-chip commits in the 2027 class: four-star quarterback Blake Roskopf, four-star running back Jeremy Adeyanju, and four-star wide receiver Zerek Sidney.
With George and Wade headlining the 2028 class, the Huskies have a great chance to make a major upgrade along the defensive line in an area where they've had a lot of success.
