Morgan Reimer of the Washington Huskies is a top candidate for Big Ten Player of the Year, recognized for her outstanding performance this season. She has 22 wins and a 2.03 ERA, making her one of the best pitchers in the nation.
All season long, the Washington Huskies have had one of the nation's best pitchers to lean on in sophomore Morgan Reimer.
Ahead of a critical three-game showdown with the No. 17 Oregon Ducks on the road in Eugene over the weekend, Big Ten Network analyst Sydney Supple highlighted coach Heather Tarr's ace as one of the Big Ten's top candidates for Player of the Year.
Listed alongside Nebraska's Jordy Frahm, the reigning National Player of the Year, Purdue's Moriah Polar, and UCLA's Megan Grant and Jordan Woolery, Reimer has firmly established herself as one of the best pitchers in the nation during the 2026 season, let alone the Big Ten.
Across 27 appearances this season, Reimer is tied with UCLA's Taylor Tinsley for the second-best mark in the nation with 22 wins across 134 1/3 innings, also good for No. 2 in the conference behind Tinsley, while her 2.03 ERA trails only Frahm in the Big Ten. She also leads the Huskies with 104 strikeouts and 9 complete games, while allowing a .243 batting average against and a 1.23 WHIP.
Heading into a critical stretch where the Huskies play six straight games against ranked teams, with three against the No. 8 Bruins looming after their time in Eugene, Tarr is going to lean heavily on her ace as the Huskies look to remain on top of the conference standings.
While Reimer might not be the favorite at the moment to take home the Big Ten Player of the Year award, some strong outings over the next few weeks could go a long way towards making her case.
