Carrick: Man Utd games vs Liverpool some of my favourites

The Washington Huskies softball team faces a crucial three-game series against Ohio State to end the regular season, having lost six straight games. A sweep could secure them a bye in the Big Ten Tournament and boost their postseason chances.
Heading into the final weekend of the regular season, with just a three-game series with the Ohio State Buckeyes remaining, the Washington Huskies have lost six consecutive games and nine of their last 13. With postseason play looming, coach Heather Tarr's team needs to get back on track quickly.
It will have a great chance to do that on the road against the Buckeyes. With a sweep, UW would earn a bye in the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 4 seed and earn a much-needed rest day following the trip to College Park, Maryland, for the postseason.
Last season, the Huskies dropped their first-ever game in the conference tournament to Indiana, and as they look to host an NCAA Regional for the first time since 2023, a run to the final in Maryland could go a long way towards building the momentum necessary for Tarr's young team to return to the Women's College World Series.
One key aspect to make that happen will be keeping the ball in the yard. Washington's pitching staff has struggled over the last few weeks, granted it was facing two of the top teams in the conference in No. 6 UCLA and No. 15 Oregon, but it has allowed 17 home runs over the six-game losing streak, a trend that could oust the Huskies from the postseason prematurely if it isn't figured out.
At the plate, the Huskies have several talented hitters at the top of the order to rely on, including Kaycie Burdick, Alexis DeBoer, Giselle Alvarez, and Jadyn Glab. After moving down in the order, if left fielder Ava Carroll can continue to swing a hot bat, with a .360 batting average and 33 runs batted in, the Huskies have the talent to compete with the top teams in the Big Ten.
The three-game set with the Buckeyes is set to begin on Friday, May 1, at 3:00 p.m. PT.

Washington's recent performance, particularly their struggles with pitching, could jeopardize their chances of advancing in the postseason if not corrected.
